Wake up...in the wake of 9/11

I got ahead in my daily reading today. It got so good, I just couldn't stop...we are in Isaiah and it is so relevant to this very moment. This is what I read and heard from the Lord:

Isaiah 8:5-6, 11-13

Then the Lord spoke to me again and said, “My care for the people of Judah is like the gently flowing waters of Shiloah, but they have rejected it. They are rejoicing over what will happen to King Rezin and King Pekah.


The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said, “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them. Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble." ________________________________________________________________________
King Rezin and King Pekah teamed up to attack Jerusalem and get rid of King Ahaz (ref. Isaiah 7:1). The Lord sent a message to Ahaz and gave him comfort and told him not to fear. He even told him He would confirm His Word for him in a sign, anything he asked...and he refused! He tried to rely on his own weapons and wealth to thwart the attack...but God's will is done.

...like the gently flowing waters of Shiloah... Shiloah is Hebrew, translated in Greek it is Siloam. Shiloah is the outlet of the water of the Gihon Spring. The pool of Siloam was constructed in an underground tunnel from this spring so that water could be sent into the city and the people would have water without fear of being attacked. In the verse in Isaiah, the Lord says the people rejected it and they rejoice over the downfall of King Rezin and King Pekah.
Water? Living Water?? NO FEAR OF ATTACK???

Let's look at Luke 13:1-5. Here, we read of the Tower of Siloam:

About this time Jesus was informed that Pilate had murdered some people from Galilee as they were offering sacrifices at the Temple. “Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than all the other people from Galilee?” Jesus asked. “Is that why they suffered? Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God. And what about the eighteen people who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners in Jerusalem? No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.”

What is He telling us here? Everyone has to die...we all have that in common. There is no explanation as to why some live and why some die in tragic accidents. The point is how did we live that we may have life eternal???

No fear...only in Him. Make Him holy in your life.
